When Steve Stubblefield founded the law firm in 1990, he designed the firm to be a boutique law firm specializing in some of the most personal areas of the law for many clients – wealth preservation, estate planning, and business formation and planning. He believed a smaller firm can lend itself to more personal relationships with clients, and emphasized the need to tailor each client’s estate plan to his or her needs without the use of “tax-speak” or “legal-ease.” Today, the law firm represents clients spanning across Mississippi and throughout the Southeast.
Stubblefield & Yelverton, PLLC customarily refrains from charging clients for the initial meeting because the attorneys believe it is in the best interest of the client to spend as much time as necessary to adequately provide all of the information needed to assess the client’s planning needs. Clients can then be presented with a tailored plan along with a flat fee quote before any work is commenced. The attorneys embrace goal oriented planning utilizing battle tested techniques as well as creative solutions.
The attorneys believe that developing and implementing quality and efficient planning requires coordination among the client’s other advisors, and for those clients who may lack a trusted advisor or wish to be introduced to a professional advisor, the firm maintains a close state-wide network of CPA’s, insurance agents, investment professionals, financial planners, investment and banking firms to draw upon for assistance.

Steve Stubblefield, having served after law school as an Estate Tax Attorney for the Internal Revenue Service for a period of four years, and having over thirty years of law practice experience, and Ralph A. Yelverton, Ashley W. Pittman, and Robert T. Van Uden, III, each having obtained their LL.M degree in Taxation, collectively serve as a strong group committed to providing solid tax advice and planning to individuals, business, and families.
